Brian Hindman: Founding Director of HERO
Brian is an Partner at Wiedner & McAuliffe, a law firm based in Chicago. Brian is licensed to practice law in the both Illinois and Indiana, specializing in workers’ compensation defense. Brian grew up in Huntsville, Alabama where he attended Randolph High School. He attended college at Washington University in St. Louis where he earned his bachelors degree in International Business and Marketing. Brian was an active member of the varsity swim team and was hired as an assistant coach for the two years following his graduation in 2003. Brian attended law school at Valparaiso University School of Law where he was a member of the Sports Law Clinic and represented amateur athletes with legal issues relating to matters arising from their sports-related roles. Brian currently lives in the River West neighborhood of Chicago.
Alex Antilla: Founding Director of HERO
Alex is Managing Director of Latin America Pricing and Revenue Management for Delta Air Lines. In his role, Alex works to maximize Delta’s revenue on routes between North America and Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean and does so in conjunction with joint venture partner Aeromexico. Alex spent the majority of his childhood in Singapore attending the Singapore American School. He moved to St Louis in 2002 to attend Washington University and got his bachelor’s degree in International Studies and International Business in 2006. He received his MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in 2014. He is also on the board of Our House, a one of its kind shelter in metro Atlanta focused on breaking the cycle of homelessness. Alex lives in Atlanta with his wife, Whitney, and son, Dominic.
Michael Slavik: Founding Director of HERO
Michael Slavik is a Senior Vice President of PNC Bank, a member of The PNC Financial Services Group, and a Commercial Banking Relationship Manager in Chicago. Growing up in Naperville, Mike attended Saints Peter and Paul School and Benet Academy. He then went on to earn bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis and a master’s degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Strategy, Execution, and Valuation from DePaul University. Michael enjoys traveling and training for various running races and triathlons, in an attempt to back-up his collegiate athletic career which culminated with an NCAA individual swimming championship. He lives in Woodridge, IL with his wife Christina and his three sons.
Meredith is the Organizational Development Manager at Next College Student Athlete (NCSA), an athletic recruiting company that works with high school student-athletes and their families to navigate the college recruiting process for athletics. She works internally and oversees training & development, performance management, and employee engagement at the organization. Meredith grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and attended Homewood Flossmoor (HF) High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Religious Studies and was a swimmer at Washington University in St. Louis. She then went on to get her master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Meredith currently lives in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago.
Eric is a Principal Software Engineer Manager at Microsoft in Seattle, WA, working within Office developing a high scale private cloud. Eric grew up in Naperville, IL, attending Neuqua Valley High School before reuniting with fellow Napervillian and HERO Michael Slavik at Washington University in St. Louis, where Eric met the other members of HERO and earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Like Michael, Eric also culminated his swimming career with a National Championship. He started working for Microsoft straight out of college and had been there ever since. Eric and his wife, Sally, live in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle with their two dogs and have a passion for traveling and doing anything in the great outdoors like skiing, hiking, camping and biking.
